There's a castle, a big park and a museum and art gallery.
Usual types of shops you'd find in any city. The arcades are good for independant clothes, record and book shops. Pussy Galore's great.
Outside the city there's the bay which is quite nice since they did it up. Lots of cafes and restaurants and the new millenium centre. And they filmed an episode of dr who there, which is the highlight really lol.
If the weather's nice you should go to Barry Island beach or Penarth, they're both only a few minutes on the train or bus and have nice beaches and the usual seaside-type things.
If you like history and all that there's St Fagan's museum of welsh life with lots of old buildings and people dressed up like it's the middle ages or something. Haven't been in ages but it's fun.
Further out there's Swansea and the Gower, about an hour away. Good shops, great beaches if it's sunny and there's Plantasia which is one of those botanic-garden-greenhouse things with cute monkeys and snakes and butterflies.
You should go to Clwb Ifor Bach sometime too. Only been once but it was great.
If I think of anything else I'll let you know.

Just something to bear in mind, I went to Barry Island this time last year and nothing was open. They were only half open in May! Probably wise to give them a ring should you fancy going there to see if anything's actually open.

Ummm pretty much the same as there is everywhere else - shops (including a new Primark superstore and a nice big department store Howells), lots of bars / clubs, cinemas, bowling etc. If you've got money to spend go to the Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay and see a show or something. The bay is worth a visit anyway, some nice bars and restaurants there.
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm can't think of anything else, it's home to me so doesn't seem special!
